The Commodity Selection
Index (CSI) is a momentum indicator developed by Welles Wilder.
Generally used to help in selecting stocks for short term trades,
the CSI highlights commodities with strong trending and volatility
characteristics. Wilder liked to trade commodities with high CSI
levels because they should (in theory) make the most money the fastest.
As a short term indicator, some day trading masters may find it
useful, as it may help to highlight those futures that have high
volatility and thus trade well in a breakout fashion - potentially
interesting to camarilla {b} equation users. The calculation for
this indicator is very complex; we refer you to Wilder's book 'New
Concepts in Technical Trading Systems' for detailed information
on generating the CSI.
